EARLY RARE STANGL BLUEBIRD #3276
HOLLOW BOTTOM

This early Bluebird with the hollow bottom was produced by the Stangl Pottery Company in 1939 only. It was restyled in 1940 and the restyled version continued in production until 1978. (See Rob Runge's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Artware, Lamps, and Birds" on page 96 and 99 for a discussion of this bird.) As Rob Runge states on page 94 "Early versions of birds that originally had "hollow bottoms," such as the ...#3276 Bluebird, are now often found with no markings, or just the decorator's initials."  So, 76 years ago, (or there about) this little fellow was made and he looks like he just came out of the mold. No chips, cracks or repairs. (Item 3276)(To Buy Click On The Red Square  .) To see other Stangl and more birds  CLICK HERE!)
