MONUMENTAL WELLER LASA VASE
DESIGNED BY JOHN LESSELL FOR THE WELLER POTTERY COMPANY

CAN YOU FIND THE SIGNATURE ABOVE?
Trees and lakes, mountains and clouds provide the subject matter for this monumental Weller LaSa vase. Designed by John Lessell,  it's a whopping 16" tall. Lessell was  head of the art department of the Weller Pottery Company from 1920 to 1925. He was known for his special metallic glazes. The size of this vase makes it a bit unusual. It has a very tight hairline of about 3" which is very difficult to spot. It also has a small "kiln kiss" on one side. Both are fairly normal for a vase of this size. The "Weller LaSa" signature is below the tree trunk in the first photo above. They don't come along every day folks. (Item 3707) . To see other outstanding Weller CLICK HERE!
