Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer and
Becky Thatcher are together again in this delightful American Classic
Series by Gort. The Gort brothers created this series between the mid 1940's and
the mid 1950's.
Located in Metuchen, NJ, the company specialized primarily in
figurines of
animals and people. Their art work was excellent and the figurines
were made of bone
china. As shown in the bottom photos, both of these figurines are signed
by the artist Priolo and dated 1947. Tom and Becky are about 5" tall, in excellent condition with no chips,
cracks or repairs.
