WELLER HOBART FLOWER FROG
FEATURING BACCHUS, GOD OF WINE

"Dionysus is the ancient Greek god of wine, the inspirer of ritual madness and ecstasy, and a major figure of Greek mythology. He was also known as Bacchus, the name adopted by the Romans. In addition to winemaking, he is the patron deity of agriculture and the theater."  Quote from Wikipedia

Rudolph Lorber, creator of the Weller Hobart line, here depicts Bacchus as a young nude boy holding a bundle of grapes. This attractive flower frog was developed by Lorber in the late 1920's. The frog is about 8" tall; the bowl about 9" wide. Both are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
